The Trboplus stuff was for Gen 1, his ad is for Gen 2. Since he says it adds 5-tone signalling as well as full FPP, it looks like he's pounding the EMEA firmware into the 7550's to give them the full FPP that the EMEA units regularly feature.

No, I think Mars is right, the option board also states that it adds 5-tone signalling.

The company has a separate part number for the 2.0 series radios. I ordered it with a group of people about 2 years ago (price discount). It's GARBAGE.

The whole thing works as a "VFO". There's no FPP memory channels -- or at least there wasn't when I used it. It was buggy and did not work as advertised. Several of us were really unimpressed.

As for EMEA having full FPP, that's not factual. I banged EMEA R02.40.00 in to a 7550 and there's no extra/hidden menus. I also looked at the DP4801 codeplug (in XML format) and there's no secret FPP EIDs, menus, etc.

It sure would be nice if factory FPP (or an EID enabling such featureset) would work in the 2.0 series radios.

Again, Ken is a good guy. Treats his customers very well. But that particular product, which he's distributing on behalf of a third party (reseller) is JUNK.

True, but the page linked to mentions nothing about Gen2 radios. All models they list as being applicable are Gen 1 EMEA models AFAICT.

OK, guess they do support Gen2. The linked page seemed specific to Gen1 only. Thanks! It does look like the radio would have to get changed to the EMEA model, though - correct? Then, you'd need EMEA CPS to support it, etc.

FPP is one reason I keep the Hytera around. FPP in the 7550 would definitely be handy.

No, it works with North American firmware and CPS. That is what Ken is reselling.

Reading this thread is so disappointing... I had such high hopes for this software...

Thank You Mars, I did buy it anyway and it does SUCK. I thought maybe someone here had better luck than I FPP of one channel works analog and digital the GPS on screen works but, the thing I bought it for the most was the digital monitor. That does not work at all. Ken is responsive but keeps telling me he has sold hundreds of them with NO problems.

That thing is a piece of ****. I'm sorry you had to learn the hard way. I am being a crazy on this issue because I don't want to see others waste their money, too.

Unfortunately, if you need Moto DMR FPP, The solution for now is to pick up a 6550, an option board and the airshark firmware from Moni. The radio doesn't have all the features of a 2.0 series, but at least FPP works properly.

You think anyone will come up with a reliable FPP like Motherola themselves?

I bought this from Ken for my 7550 about two months ago. I wanted it mainly for the digital monitor. I have found that it does work, but with some issues.

You must know the timeslot and color code to use the monitor. It doesn't show the talk group ID for more than a couple of seconds and offers no logging.

Supposedly, there are supposed to be continuing updates, but I haven't heard a word since I bought it.

Bottom line, it serves a very limited purpose, and is nice to have, but the cost is way out of line for what you get.

Supposedly it's the AsiaPac firmware that has the full FPP in it... Per the manufacturer...
