XPR7550 - uploading codeplug for keypad radio into identical non-keypad radio

I have a European XPR7550 radio (known as a DP4600) which does NOT have a keypad- but does have a display. I also have a keypad version (known as a DP4800).

Can I upload a keypad codeplug into a non-keypad radio?

Both radios are identical to an XPR7550 except for the missing keypad. The non-keypad version is NOT equivalent to an XPR7350 which does not have a display.

There is only one post which I edited to get the model numbers 100% correct. Please delete the "XPR5550" posts as I meant XPR7550. I thought I was just editing one post but something must have gone wrong when I was editing the subject heading.

I've been trying to drag and drop / cut and paste between CP's but nothing seems to happen.

In fact, the cut and paste options don't seem to highlight.

In theory, should I be able to drag and drop the entire content of one CP into another just by dragging the CP icon from one to another?

Trbo CPS does not support drag and drop whatsoever, except for some individual zones or settings. You can copy and paste contact lists. Zones and channel pools can be drug across, but unless you have copied across the contact lists and created new scan, roam or other voice lists on the new codeplug, those fields when drug across will be blank.

Some settings can be drug, try each individual header on the left. Buttons of course, do not copy. The help tutorial is very good on this subject.

Pity you can't copy across an entire CP..although at least you can separately drag and drop a big contacts or channel list.

Any idea if a keypad XPR7550 (actually a DP4800) codeplug can be uploaded into a non-keypad DP4600 - I suspect the model numbers will not match so the cp will be rejected even though the only difference is the keypad.

Yes, it will give you a model number mismatch error.
