I have an UHF XPR8300. I hooked up the 12 volt back up power cable but when the A/C is removed the repeater dies.
Anyone know if something else is needed to enable this feature ?
I didn't see anything in the code plug.

Sounds like it is take-it-apart-and-figure-it-out time. There's probably a fuse or diode in the power supply.

I had the same scenario with mine. Turns out someone, at some point, replaced the inline battery fuse with one that was way too small and it popped on the first transfer to battery. Once I put the proper one in it was good to go.
