I picked up an XTL 2500 for a steal. It is dash mount, and to fit in my truck it needs to be remote mount.

I have the part list and checked MOL for prices... WOW the kit to convert it is expensive (way more than I paid for the radio), even if I buy the pieces parted-out.

I have been looking for the appropriate CHIB/CHUC setup used online and have had no luck. Even reached out to some people I know who stock "parts-only" radios and they do not have anything that could help me.

My question is: is the CHIB/CHUC setup on a PM1500 identical to that on the XTL2500? I may be able to pick up a used PM1500 and was thinking about trying to take the parts off of that and put them on my XTL2500. Also, would I then be able to put the front of the PM1500 control head onto the brain unit (essentially building a dash-mount PM1500)?


Any other ideas that I'm not thinking of?
