Has anyone here dealt with installing a PA system using the XTL5000? Under the radio wide PA/Siren page there is a option of using Siren/PA or PA Only. However, I have two questions about the PA feature.

(1) It looks like in order to access the PA button you must be using a DEK. However the company has only O3 heads and a XTL5000 brick installed w/o any DEK or wiring for one. The only place that I see the PA button is under the DEK configuration. Is the DEK the only way that you can activate that feature?

(2) Where exactly does the PA audio output from? From reading both the XTL5000 BSM and DSM and also the O3 / O5 BSM and DSM, there really isn't much information about that feature. From my reading, I believe that it comes out of the TIB on the XTL5000 brick, but I don't exactly know what pins the audio comes out on. If it is an amplified signal that is not line level (PA amplifier is a Whelen Power Airhorn Plus), I thought maybe using a RDL speaker to line level converter would be able to feed the PA amplifier. So, does anyone know what pins the PA audio comes out from?

The siren/PA feature is only to support the Moto siren or the Moto PA. The Moto siren and PA look the same, just different features.

Ok, that makes a lot more sense than what I was trying to figure out.

Thanks!
