I just got in a UHF Low split mid power XTL5000 with a W4 head in remote configuration. I hooked 12v to the back of the radio and 12v to the green & orange wires on the control head. When turning on the radio, the transmit LED illuminates until the mode buttons or the encryption button is pressed. Then the LED goes off and the radio emits a steady tone. Nothing short of turning the radio off makes the tone stop.
The front of the radio is different. It looks just like an Astro Spectra remote plate as it is missing the round connector.
The programming cable will be here tomorrow.
Am I missing something obvious? I tried putting a jumper between pins 14 & 15 on the 26 pin connector, but I got the same results. Hopefully it's just something in the programming.
