xtl5000 vs mic control

Hi I have the xtl5000 with the hmn4079e mic.it works great execpt I can only use the 3 side buttons and joystick sideways........running R:20.0 is there anyway to program the 16 other buttons in front??Thank you so much 73's ve2-bu

I believe there's a way to setup the number buttons for direct channel access.

I don't have an XTL to test with at the moment and didn't see anything in the CPS but I believe you tune to the channel you want, press and hold on the number button you want to assign to that channel. Once that's done, you can do a short press of the number button and you will jump to that channel.

The number keypad can't be programmed to do anything else. The other buttons mirror the radio functions.
