Is there anyone on this site that could sync, a 05 control head with xtl5000 ,presently with 04 head on it? or send me in right direction ,,Thanks

Do you mean it has a W4 head on it?

All XTL5000s can support any head, simply read the radio, change the head type to the new head type, write the radio, power down, replace the old head hardware with the new correct type head hardware and power the radio back up. Done.

Yes. Regular CPS can make the change for the ASTRO25 line. The codeplug isn't "built" around the head type like it is for the ASTRO series.

Does this apply for an Astro Spectra Plus too? I think it uses the same CPS as the XTL5000 series.

The AS+ only supports the W-series heads, but as far as being able to change them at will, I'm not sure. Being kind of rare, I have never tried changing an AS+ head on the fly, I always just kind of assumed it was embedded similarly to the regular AS. But, maybe it's not, now that you mention it - perhaps someone who had tried can comment.

AS+ head is locked to the codeplug just like the Astro Spectra. You cannot change head types in the same way as the XTL5000.
