I have purchased a xts3000 and it came programmed with a hole heap of channels "I don't want these". I only want this radio for std UHF CB frequencies. So i tried to delete all the programmed channels, Then added the channels i wanted. When i sent this back to my radio it said that I Cannot write radio without advanced system keys.

Is there any way around this?

Radio is a XTS 3000

R 07 10 01

Flash Code 500008 000600 5

Yes. Some douche sold you a radio with the ASK enabled.

There are two methods to remove the ASK:

- Use Depot software and a SRIB/flash cable. (The radio must be written to in bootstrap mode)
- Read the S-record using MTSX Depot Tool R03.00.02, save it. Then edit it to remove the ASK flag, and dump it back into the radio.

You can also try to find a new S-record which doesn't have a ASK present. But this will wipe your tuning values, so back them up before attempting this.

I did some work with manual ASK removal a while back. Check out this thread: http://communications.support/threa...tra-XTS3000-Advanced-System-Key-(ASK)-Removal

Just a reminder, members cannot ask for forbidden software titles here. It might be 23 years old, but Motorola would likely object to us distributing it.
