Take a look at the XTS 1500 Model 1.5 User Guide, which I've just uploaded to the Service & Repair / Service Manuals & Other Documents section of this site.

I have an XTS1500 and 2500... I've tried various IMPRES batteries on both radios and I have had zero success in getting the battery guage to display. Really not sure why... Not overly important but one of those little things that bugs me haha

Yes it works. May be a firmware issue depending if you have an older firmware. I had a 2500 1.5 that had issues displaying battery gauge. After the firmware was bumped up to a newer version it worked great. Also make sure your battery is initialized properly with an impres charger.

Actually... Correction... My 1500 is actually a 2500 1.5. I also have a model 2 2500 and neither of them display the battery guage. It must be a mismatch of some sort between my chargers and batteries I guess.

My experience : Until I begrudgingly dropped the $$$ on an IMPRES Field Programmer (Motorola Part # : RLN5671A) to update the firmware, it was hit-or-miss as to whether the battery gauge showed up on my XTS 2500I's (one has HOST R12.xx.xx, the other HOST R15.xx.xx)

Once all my chargers were on V3.9 (both SUCs and a MUC 6-gang), never had troubles after that.

other issue i've seen with impres batteries was people using a ht1250 impres battery on a xts radio. The battery gauge will not display.

I have ranted before on this, but IMPRES sucks a rock.

I have had more issues with partial battery data showing up (and thus the gauge won't display) that I have had ones that work right, even after properly conditioning the battery. I have some that are totally "stupid" (no data at all), and some that are partial (number of charges but nothing else), and that behavior changes from time to time at will, apparently. They SUCK. Did I mention that?

The MUC I have has the latest firmware but still has brain farts where it won't display the charge data, either. Half the time the stupid LED's don't even agree with the displays about the charge phase or status. I am THOROUGHLY UN-IMPRES'ed.
