Hi all,

I have some friends looking for a crypto module for an XTS2500 which has DES-OFB. The radio currently has AES-256 and AES-GCM. I see a few modules which are listed as working for the XTL 2500/5000 and XTS5000. Am I correct in assuming that it is ONLY for those, and will not work with the XTS2500? I thought the XTS2500 module is actually part of the back of the keypad.

Can someone please advise?

You are correct, the XTS2500 uses a special keypad board with the crypto hardware mounted to the backside. The XTS5000 and the XTL mobiles use the same UCM module, a small rectangular 1x2 inch PC board. The mobiles require a carrier board that the UCM module mounts to.
