XTS2500 Questions & Concerns

First, I've had some comments about the speaker mic on my 2500 being rather low in audio. I've found a few fields across CPS and tuner to deal with internal mic gain but nothing about accy mics. Would this be the norm? Is there any way to counteract? Apparently the audio lifts considerably/noticeably when I speak directly into the handheld. I've not tested my discreet voicetube/throatmic set for audio out yet but not sure that would be a fair comparison either in testing if it is the mic, the norm or a setting tweek that I cannot find is required.

Second, I've managed to do some work on CPS with my handheld and have noticed each time I go to upload the CPG to the handheld (FPP involved) I have to force the upload. For some reason it will never just allow me to "write radio" successfully. Is this another of them FPP quirks? Is there any real override on this rather than the forcing? Each time I attempt a force I notice I have to turn the handheld off and back on again before writing else I get a fail could not write. I'm using the CPS for my RX only stuff (an attempt to do the right thing and not interfere with commmercial/ems services by enforcing rx only on them personalities) and for my out of band CB channels. I'm looking at potentially dropping the initial 10x16 or whatever it is FPP's down to 2x16 or 3x16 max since it is really an in-case afterthought thing for me and I need more personalities for vote scan services (ran rather short on personalities :(. Which brings me to

Third, is there any way to increase the personalities like the modes/channels? I think it was a no but cannot remember. I only need 10 odd more too to finish everything up :(. I hate how FPP uses a personality per flammin channel.

Fourth, is there any list of suggested contacts here to buy batteries and the like for these? To support the group or group members assuming they are not ripping off etc. I just think given our ridiculous prices for everything over here it will be an import job and it gives me the chance to potentially aid the group or at least some from it as a thanks for the help when the time comes up (coming soon). May well be in the next 1-2 years looking for crypto hardware as well for DES-OFB, DVP-XL and AES-256 and will possibly soon be looking for TIB and CHIB gear to split a couple of XTL2500s. Fleabay seems useless in this area as there seems to be no impress batteries (I do like the feature of being able to see the capacity or EOL reasons) and depending on insurance coverage availability my APX that's coming may not be so safe in the car :( which is really where I wanted the nice clean beautiful setup to replace everything there. Meaning I'd have to use a pair of XTLs instead.

Thanks for the help so far folks and looking forward to some good answers for me as usual. Sorry if I sound like I'm ranting, it's 0300hrs here and I've not been to bed yet so a little knackered.

Just remembered what one other question was, I have previously been able to lock my XTL and XTS gear IIRC from CPS (found the regular boot up password) but I cannot remember for the life of me how to passcode lock CPS communication with the radios (yes I know it can be got around but VERY few around here would be capable of that level when stolen). I've goggled but cannot find anything beyond the bootup passlock and tac inhibit.

And is there any way to safely stun ones own radio from another that is NOT a dispatch desk setup? Meaning I could stun my car radios from my base or handheld if the car was stolen. Would stun provide an acknowledgement to know if it stung or was out of range?

Given the raised level of crime around here at the moment I'm a little paranoid and worse the little creetins are burning the vehicles they pinch at the moment rather than just pinching anything that is loose and leaving the car where it runs out of fuel meaning a lot of money in radios potentially down the drain.
