I have a VHF and UHF XTS5000 that do both, but they both have Firmware V9 and I use CPS 9 to program them. That was the last combination that allowed use of FPP with trunking, and I have the UHF radio set up that way, mixing both things. It's called Q52-only FPP.
As of firmware and CPS V10, they introduced Q53, and they decided to screw up FPP completely by locking it to the one-personality-per-channel for the first 240 modes format, and limiting the Astro, MDC, Quik-Call II and DTMF systems to one single system for the entire set of the first 240 modes. This was done so that assignments of the trunking personalities to modes would not interfere with the pre-assigned 240 conventional personalities already assigned to modes (channels). I don't know what drove the decision to limit to 1 Astro, MDC, etc. system(s), that seems like an unnecessary and capricious limitation to me.
I know what your next question will be, so I'll answer that - I tried hacking the trunking back on in a Q53 enabled radio; by enabling selection of trunking in the Zone screen, I tried selecting it, and the whole CPS promptly crashed. So, scratch that...
As far as your question goes, I would have to guess they would recommend they buy two radios! Remember, FPP isn't a common commercial option outside the Ham and a few Gov't agencies' use. Most people ordering trunking would not find FPP useful, and for regular commercial users, I don't think an FPP-enabled radio is even type accepted. I think you have to have a note from the Government if you want FPP officially.
