XTS5000, enable ADP, Tuning version disappears....weird.

Gents,

Acquired a XTS5000 ages ago and finally sat down to play with it.

Since I don't have a secure board for it yet, thought I'd play with it and enable ADP for kicks and giggles.

Once enabled and written to radio, a couple of weird things happen....

1) Go into Service Mode via radio, it doesn't work, resets the radio

2) Read the Radio again, Go to Radio Information>Versioning....Tuning: XX.XX.XX and (from memory) DSP was the same.

Turn ADP off and it goes back to normal.

I know people on here will say why bother with Software ADP but its in it and it 'should' work (being anal and all)

Any ideas what the problem is or am I doing something wrong ?

Flashcode is: 589008-001E86-4 if it makes a difference......

What firmware revision do you have? What you describe does not sound normal. Try updating the firmware. If that fails, you might have to send this to someone who can replace the codeplug with a known working version. If that fails, then it's got Jungle Rot in the Brain Pan (hardware sickness of some sort).

I refreshed it (the proper way) again, still the same.

Since this is the only codeplug I have, it may need to be sent to someone to fix up......
