Hi all,
I have recently been playing with the Trunking Call List feature on an XTS5000 so that when a radio broadcasts its RID (on a APCO25 Trunk System) instead of ID: 123456 I have an alpha description e.g. Truck 41
Everything is setup and fantastic ... BUT I have about 250 odd ID's I wish to program, and each list only allows a max of 100
The trunk personality only allows me to select 1 list (CPS> Trunking> Trunking Personality> Trunking Personality 1> Call/Page> Call ID List) so for this example I will say I have 3 lists ... List 1 has 100 IDs, List 2 has 100 IDs list 3 has my final 50 IDs(= 250) and my trunking personality is set to Call List: 1
Naturally everything works fine for RIDs in List 1, but the radio doesn't display alpha tags for RIDs from either of the other lists, one would strongly assume as that's because Trunking Personality 1 is tied in with List 1, and none of the other lists in existence.
In my research I found a forum post elsewhere that someone asked the same question a few years back and the reply was the radio will scan ALL lists i.e. Call List 1, Call List 2, Call List 3 and display the Alpha tag found in any of them on Receive and will only become a problem when you wish to use alpha tagging to call out, to which the OP agreed worked, however on mine it doesnt, it only works for those 100 programmed into List 1
So my question
1) Am I stuck just selecting my favourite top 100 RIDs to show on my screen?
or
2) if the radio can in fact read and display the alpha tag for RIDs contained in ALL 3 list ... HOW do I do this?
I must also note I cannot select Call ID List: NONE in the Call/Page tab because it comes up with red text (error) as soon as I do. I had thought perhaps I need to set this to NONE i.e that personality isn't tied in with a particular Call ID List and will therefore search all lists in existence when recieving an ID. I believe this codeplug was once setup for Calling but no more, if someone can point me in the right direction on how to disable calling so that I can try this I am all ears.
Basically: when the XTS recieves a Radio ID on a P25 Trunked system I want it to display an Alpha tag, and I have 250 odd i wish to include. How can I do this, if at all possible, beyond the 100 I am currently restricted too.
I have searched high and low, been through the help files several times, and although I think I am close I just cant seem to crack it.
